Thu Thiem, with its prime location along the Saigon River, has become a highlight in Ho Chi Minh City's development plan. Over the past two decades, this area has not only attracted attention from both domestic and international investors but is also expected to become the new economic, cultural, and entertainment center of the city. With meticulous planning and strong investment, Thu Thiem promises to bring a high-class and modern life for residents while opening up many attractive investment opportunities.

From vision to reality
Throughout the past two decades, Thu Thiem has been expected to develop rapidly, opening up many opportunities for residents, investors, and businesses. With its rare riverside location right in the city center, thorough planning, and special attention from both domestic and international parties, the Thu Thiem Peninsula is predicted to become a bustling and prosperous district in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City - a proud and charming "Eastern Pearl."
We have had the opportunity to accompany local authorities and witnessed the vision, scale, and meticulousness in the development plan of Thu Thiem. Thu Thiem will enhance the quality of life for city residents, much like how Pudong has completely transformed Shanghai's landscape.
Sasaki's master plan
In 2003, Sasaki Associates (USA) won the design award for the new Thu Thiem Urban Center - a 657-hectare green peninsula opposite District 1. Sasaki's master plan focuses on developing Thu Thiem into a sustainable urban center with diverse land use activities. The plan is based on a transportation framework, land use, and public spaces integrated with the existing ecological conditions of the lower Saigon River and the southern Vietnam climate. Thu Thiem enhances the relationship between the city and the river, serving as a sustainable development model for Ho Chi Minh City.

The New Thu Thiem Center - Ho Chi Minh City's "Pudong - Shanghai"
Pudong - Shanghai and Thu Thiem share many similarities in their starting points. Before becoming a "special" urban area, both Pudong and Thu Thiem were undeveloped lands. Thu Thiem spans only 737 hectares with a population of about 130,000 people, while Pudong covers 522.75 square kilometers with a population of over 2 million people.
Pudong then and now
In the 1980s, Pudong was a farming area with almost no high-rise buildings. It began to develop only when the Chinese government decided to transform it into a financial and economic center. With comprehensive planning of financial commercial zones, export processing zones, high-tech science parks, economic and technical exhibition zones, and international airports, Pudong quickly developed into a bustling and modern urban area.

Thu Thiem - "Ho Chi Minh City's Pudong"
Surrounded by the gentle Saigon River, the Thu Thiem peninsula has a convenient location for traveling to districts 1, 4, 7, and Binh Thanh. It is expected that Thu Thiem will soon become a new economic center of the city, similar to the prosperous and bustling Pudong in Shanghai.
With high connectivity to major boulevards, metro stations, and five "unique" bridges, including a pedestrian bridge to District 1, Thu Thiem is planned not only to become the new economic-financial center of Southeast Asia but also a vibrant cultural, artistic, and entertainment hub. This place will soon become a "common destination" for many special, iconic architectural works.
Integrating elements of "Live - Work - Play - Learn" with outstanding amenities, Thu Thiem allocates nearly 50% of its area for parks, green spaces, and waterfront landscapes. With three sides directly facing the river, it is considered the "Green Peninsula" of the city. "Living in Thu Thiem" will soon become a proud declaration for buyers and open up great investment opportunities in the future.

Construction progress update of Thu Thiem Urban Area
The infrastructure of the new Thu Thiem urban area includes key arterial roads such as Mai Chi Tho Boulevard, ring roads, Thu Thiem Bridge, Ba Son Bridge, and Thu Thiem Tunnel. Thu Thiem Tunnel, the most modern river tunnel in Southeast Asia, connects the East-West Boulevard of Ho Chi Minh City.
Mai Chi Tho Boulevard connects the eastern gateway with the city center, being a part of the East-West Boulevard. Along with major roads, the new Thu Thiem urban area also has four ring roads with a total length of nearly 12km. The ring roads, started in 2014, are expected to change the urban landscape and boost economic exchange.
The new Thu Thiem urban area also connects with the city center through two major bridges, Thu Thiem Bridge and Ba Son Bridge. Thu Thiem Bridge connects Ngo Tat To Street, Nguyen Huu Canh Street (Binh Thanh District) to Nguyen Co Thach Street (New Thu Thiem Urban Area, Thu Duc City). Ba Son Bridge connects from Ton Duc Thang Street (District 1) to the new Thu Thiem urban area, considered a new symbol of the city with its cable-stayed design and dragon-shaped main tower.
